Thank you, Lord, for this day. May it be used for your glory!
Good morning everyone and welcome back to Biblit!

This week we’ve been talking about Peter, Cornelius, and the gospel message being sent to the gentiles. Let’s jump into some application points and see how it all applies to us today!
Remarkable Prayer
There are a few takeaways from Cornelius and Peter’s prayers I wanted to bring up. But the first one is this:
When we humbly seek the Lord with a determined and patient spirit, we will experience great blessing.
Cornelius spent a ton of time praying to God when he didn’t even really know Him yet. Peter also spent time in prayer. Jesus spent time in prayer.
And they all did it consistently throughout the day, they did it with patience, and they didn’t expect God’s answer immediately. But they also did it with the faith and determination that God would answer.
But also note that “great blessing” can mean many different things. This isn’t a “if you pray you’ll get rich” kind of thing. Cornelius prayed and he met Jesus. That is a blessing far greater than every ounce of wealth this world has to offer!
When we pray, we are spending time with the Father, and that alone is the blessing!
The other takeaway has more to do with Peter’s prayer and response as he showed hospitality to his gentile neighbor: love all your neighbors.
Simple right?
My commentary inspired me with 3 ways to display love to our neighbors:
Don’t hesitate to befriend people unlike you
Show hospitality to ALL people and open your home to others to eat together and live life together
Show humility and submit to one another regardless of any discrimination you may have against them
There are countless more. But the point is that just like Peter we are called to love others. Not just the others in our church. Not just the others that act like us. Others mean everyone God puts in our life.
Love them, befriend them, share meals with them, and share the gospel with them.
Our Gospel Message
This leads us to our own gospel message.
I thought for this takeaway, I would take Peter’s gospel message breakdown and change the wording so you could apply it to your own message:
Anyone can have a relationship with God
God desires a humble encounter
Jesus is the Lord of ALL
Share your own experience of Jesus working in your life
End it with the good news that Jesus died on the cross, defeated death and sin, and now sits at the right hand of God interceding on our behalf!
I don’t think sharing the gospel always has to be this rigid of a structure, but this is the way Peter did it.
So this is the way we could do it too!
